Cal Flame
Built-in grills, outdoor kitchens, fire features — California-built.
The Story
Cal Flame is the Pomona, California manufacturer that puts a whole outdoor kitchen in a single catalog — grills, islands, fire pits, fireplaces, pizza ovens. Convection grill technology is their flagship cook system; the Top Gun 5-burner is the volume pick.
The pre-fab outdoor kitchen islands (Patio Series, Escape Series, Platinum Series) ship as pre-built modules that drop onto a concrete slab in a day — vs. the 3-6 week custom masonry island build. Big draw for buyers who want outdoor-kitchen aesthetics without the mason crew.

Design Principles
What Cal Flame Cares About
01
Convection grill tech
Cal Flame's G Series grills use a convection cook chamber that circulates heat evenly, so you get indirect roasting + direct searing in the same grill without hot spots.
02
Pre-fab outdoor kitchen islands
Patio / Escape / Platinum series ship pre-built. Drop onto a slab in a day, not a 3-week masonry build.
03
California-made
Welded + assembled in Pomona, CA. Not a Pacific-import brand badged as domestic.
Questions
Frequently Asked About Cal Flame
What makes Cal Flame's convection grill different?
The G Series convection chamber circulates heat through baffles for even roasting + direct searing in one cook. Traditional grills have hot spots over the burners; Cal Flame's convection setup evens that out, so a brisket + a steak can share the grill without one burning.
Are Cal Flame pre-fab islands worth it vs. a custom masonry build?
If you want the outdoor-kitchen look in a weekend install, yes. The Patio Series starts at ~$2,500 for a full stucco-finish base with grill cutout + storage; a custom masonry island with the same spec runs $8-15K + 3-6 weeks of mason labor.
Can I use my own grill in a Cal Flame island?
The pre-fab islands ship with Cal Flame grill cutouts sized for Cal Flame grills. Dropping in a different brand (Bull, Hestan, Coyote) usually works if the cutout dimensions match — check the brand's cutout spec against the Cal Flame island spec before ordering.
