The Story
Summit specializes in the slim-format, ADA-compliant outdoor refrigeration that finishes most luxury outdoor kitchens. Where Hestan and Coyote sell the grill, Summit sells the refrigerator drawer underneath it — 15, 18, and 24-inch widths with frost-free operation, weatherproof seals, and the 32-inch height required to fit under lower ADA-compliant counters.
The catalog runs from undercounter refrigerator drawers to dual-zone refrigerator-freezer combinations, dedicated outdoor freezers, beer kegerators, and stainless icemakers — every unit ETL-S listed to NSF-7 commercial standards, so they install in residential and light-commercial outdoor kitchens alike. Frost-free operation and audible-alarm temperature monitoring mean minimum user maintenance once the build is finished.
Summit's positioning in the build-out is straightforward: when an outdoor kitchen plan calls for refrigeration at sub-24-inch widths or under ADA-compliant counter heights, Summit is one of the few brands building purpose-designed outdoor units at those dimensions. The 304 stainless construction, sealed back panels, and weatherproof gaskets are the same engineering you'd expect from premium indoor refrigeration, executed for outdoor exposure.

Design Principles
01
32-inch tall cabinets fit under lower ADA-compliant counters without trimming, with available extender kits to raise to 34¼ inches for standard installs.
02
Weatherproof construction with sealed backs and front-breathing designs allow safe built-in or freestanding installation in covered outdoor kitchens.
03
15, 18, and 24-inch widths fill the refrigeration footprints most luxury grill brands don't cover — drawer refrigerators, dual-zone units, icemakers, and kegerators in the narrow modules.
04
Every unit listed to commercial NSF-7 standards, with ENERGY STAR certification on the refrigeration line — the same listings that qualify Summit units for light-commercial outdoor bar installations.
Questions
Yes — every model in the Summit Appliance line is built with weatherproof construction, sealed back panels, and outdoor-rated gaskets. The units are designed for built-in or freestanding installation in covered outdoor kitchens. Components are protected from typical outdoor exposure (humidity, temperature swings, occasional rain splash) but the unit itself should not be left in standing water or exposed to direct rainfall.
The ADA-compliant units are 32 inches tall, designed to fit under lower counter heights that meet Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility guidelines. Summit includes leveling legs and kickplates on most ADA models so the same unit can be raised to 34¼ inches for standard counter heights — letting the same SKU work for either build.
Most Summit Appliance drawer models accept user-provided overlay panels — panel dimensions are listed on each PDP. The default finish is stainless steel; the overlay capability lets you match the unit visually to existing cabinetry designs.

Drawer refrigerators look cleaner and lose less cold air per opening, but door units cost less and hold tall bottles. A side-by-side on Summit's outdoor lineup.

Summit and U-Line are the two go-to brands for slim-format outdoor refrigeration. Where each one wins, where the build quality is genuinely different, and which kitchens prefer which.

Standard warranty is 1 year parts and labor on the full unit. Commercial-rated units carry the same residential warranty when installed in residential outdoor kitchens. Extended warranty coverage is available through participating dealers.
