The Story
Current Backyard is the all-electric outdoor-cooking brand sitting at the opposite end of the grill spectrum from traditional gas and charcoal. The pitch is simple: real outdoor-cooking heat without needing a gas line, a propane tank, or an open flame. That opens the balcony, the condo, the HOA community, and any patio where live fire isn't an option.
The lineup starts with the Model G2 Electric Grill — dual independent cooking zones, 700°F searing heat, built-in meat thermometers, and a companion app for monitoring and remote shutoff. A matching Model G2 Cabinet rolls the whole rig into a freestanding cart with built-in storage. The Model P+ Electric Pizza Oven covers the other half of the backyard cooking surface: 850°F in minutes on a standard 120V outlet, eight cooking modes that cover Neapolitan, New York, frozen, and even veggies and dessert.
The design intent runs through the whole catalog: QuickRelease heating elements for easier cleaning, weather-resistant construction for exposed patio installs, a compact footprint for tight spaces, and app-connected controls that match a modern kitchen appliance more than a traditional grill.

Design Principles
01
No gas, charcoal, or open flame — the entire catalog runs on standard household power. 120V 15A dedicated circuit for the grill, standard 120V outlet for the pizza oven. Balcony-, condo-, and HOA-friendly by design.
02
700°F searing on the Model G2 grill and 850°F on the Model P+ pizza oven — temperatures a conventional electric indoor appliance doesn't hit. Ceramic and stainless heating elements match the heat flux of a mid-tier gas grill.
03
Both the grill and pizza oven pair with the Current app for temperature monitoring, zone control, remote shutoff, and alerts. Built-in meat thermometers on the grill support up to four probes.
04
Painted-steel lids with stainless commercial-grade liners, QuickRelease heating elements for cleaning, and footprints small enough for balconies. A limited 10-year warranty with product registration within 60 days; otherwise a limited 5-year.
Questions
For most patio cooking, yes. The G2 hits 700°F — hotter than many entry- and mid-tier gas grills — and its dual cooking zones let you sear on one side while holding a lower temperature on the other. What it doesn't do is cook off propane in the deep backyard where you don't have 120V service. If you have power at the cook site, the G2 is a serious grill.
Depends on where you cook. Many condos, apartments, and HOA communities prohibit open-flame cooking outright. Balconies above the first floor often can't have a propane tank. Current exists for those spaces. For a detached single-family backyard with no restrictions, the pitch is different: easier cleanup, no fuel to refill, and app-connected monitoring. Taste is subjective and the sear you get at 700°F closes most of the gap with a gas grill.
A standard household 120V outlet is enough for the Model P+. Peak draw hits a standard kitchen circuit, so run it on its own branch when possible. The grill (G2) also runs on 120V but asks for a dedicated 15A circuit, with 20A recommended.

It's rated for indoor or outdoor use — the only non-combustion outdoor cooker in the Current lineup that's indoor-rated. That makes it usable in a garage, kitchen, or anywhere with 120V and a non-flammable countertop.
