The Brand
Architectural fire in glass-fiber concrete
The Story
Prism Hardscapes is what happens when an architectural concrete shop decides to build outdoor fire features instead of countertops. Every piece in the Prism Hardscapes lineup — Tavola, Porto, Triton, Embarcadero, Piazza — starts as a moulded GFRC shell, the same engineered concrete used on facades and bridges, and ends as something that reads as a piece of furniture instead of an appliance.
Glass-fiber reinforced concrete is the quiet material here. It's lighter than poured concrete, stronger in tension, and stable through freeze-thaw cycles that crack ordinary cast pieces inside three winters. The surface holds its colour and texture without sealing; the structural shell will outlast its bronze burner.
What makes the Prism Hardscapes catalog distinct is the proportions. The Tavola sits at dining height. The Porto is built around a long banquette. The Embarcadero is a tower, not a bowl. Each piece was designed for a specific use case in an outdoor room, and the geometry tells you what it's for the moment you see it.

Design Principles
01
Glass-fiber reinforced concrete — engineered for facades and bridges, used here for outdoor permanence without the weight of cast concrete.
02
Proportions chosen for how the piece anchors a patio: dining-height tables, low banquette pits, tall sculptural towers.
03
Hidden under the GFRC: a CSA-listed brass burner and stainless components, rated for the same outdoor conditions as the shell.
04
Surface texture varies by collection — sandblasted Tavola, smooth Cafe, hammered patina options on select pieces.
Questions
GFRC (glass-fiber reinforced concrete) is the engineered concrete used on building facades and bridges. It's lighter than poured concrete, stronger in tension, and stable through freeze-thaw cycles that crack ordinary cast pieces inside three winters. The surface holds its color and texture without sealing, and the structural shell will outlast the bronze burner.
Tavola is dining-height — a fire table you can eat at. Moderno is a square-profile coffee-height piece designed as a centerpiece for a seating circle. Porto is built around a long banquette layout. Each silhouette was designed for a specific use case in an outdoor room; the geometry tells you what it's for the moment you see it.
Most pieces ship configurable — the same chassis takes natural-gas, propane self-contained, or an LP enclosure that hides the tank. Specify at order. Burner is a CSA-listed brass system rated for both fuels.

Six standard GFRC finishes: Cafe (warm brown), Coastal (sand), Ebony (deep black), Natural (concrete gray), Pewter (warm gray), and Ultra White (architectural). Texture varies by collection — Tavola is sandblasted, Moderno is smoother, hammered patina is available on select pieces. Ultra White carries a premium.
No sealing required. GFRC is engineered for permanent outdoor exposure — the surface holds color, texture, and structural integrity through freeze-thaw cycles without treatment. Wipe clean with mild soap and water when needed.
Quick Ship items in standard finishes ship in 3–5 business days. Made-to-order configurations (custom finish, alternate burner spec, LP enclosure) run 4–6 weeks. The product page lists the lead time per SKU.
