The 5' version of this award winning design is engineered to be operated by a single chef. All the hassles of the antiquated spit rod have been eliminated – no tying, wiring, spearing or counter-weighting. Load, cook and unload large animals, turkeys, hams (all cooked simultaneously) without removing the 304 grade stainless steel cradle from its base. The specially designed patented Meat-On Lock Arms securely holds individual items such as whole turkey, chicken, roasts or large whole animals such as lamb or pig. Individual items with different cooking times can be easily removed without having to take the Cradle from the grill - a feature that is highly regarded by those that cook and serve large quantities of meat over an extended period.
A whole 125 lb pig cooks in a fraction of the time - 4 1/2 - 6 hours over a low, controlled fire compared to 12 - 20 hours with an average spit-rod. This allows you to produce a tender, fully cooked and beautifully golden product that uses less charcoal and a great deal less work. Even the chef gets to enjoy the party instead of constantly tending to cooking.
