Argentinian Briquette Charcoal
Argentinian Briquette Charcoal

Customers often shy away from briquette type charcoal. Some customers think briquettes are not made from all natural ingredients. This can be true with some brands of briquettes.
PLEASE NOTE that any charcoal briquettes we sell are all natural. Maple Leaf briquettes are simply the left over product from the bagging of the lump charcoal. The left overs are ground to a consistant size and they use the same 3-wood crush in the same ratio as there lump charcoal. Wheat starch is used as the binding agent. There are no fillers or other un-natural binders.

Briquettes will not burn quite as hot as lump charcoal and also burner longer. Given that they are relatively consistent in size and that they burn at a lower temperature you may want to use briquettes when a Longer and Slower burn is required. Great for use in Smokers when Low & Slow is the rule, or for example, chicken where a lower temperature is needed.

You should have both lump and briquette on hand for different types of food and styles of cooking.
